Chief Richard Lewis

Chief Richard Lewis is a class of 1975 graduate of the Fayetteville Central High School. He attended Motlow State College. He is a graduate of the Tennessee Highway Patrol Recruit Class of 1978. During his time with the Highway Patrol, Chief Lewis worked as a Criminal Investigator. 

In 2006 he transferred to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent in the Narcotics Unit. In 2009 he was named Project Safe Neighborhood Officer of the Year by the Department of Justice. 

In May 2014 Chief Lewis was hired by the Winchester Police Department as a Patrol Captain.  In 2016 Chief Lewis was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police and in 2017 he was promoted to Chief of Police.
