Randy Holt

"Hey Buddy!  How's it going?"
If you have visited one of the many businesses owned by the Holt family over the last century, we are sure you've heard this phrase!  The Holt family has established a legacy of grocery and food service entrepreneurship in Franklin County.  The Holt family business began with Randy’s father and uncle in the early 1950’s when they established a rolling grocery store in Franklin County, TN.  The rolling store was converted to a brick and mortar grocery store in Cowan, TN in the mid-1950’s.  In 1960, the Holt brothers closed the Cowan location to open Holt’s Market in Winchester, TN – a supermarket.
Randy began working with his father at Holt’s Market in 1968 at the age of 12, where he assisted in the butcher/meat department.  He fondly remembers needing to stand on a Coca-Cola crate in order to weigh the meats, because he wasn’t tall enough to see the scale (and if you know Randy, you know he is probably still not tall enough - ha ha). Randy continued working with his father and learning the ropes of business management and food service at Holt’s Market until his father’s passing in 1980.

In 1982, the Holt family tradition continued when Randy and his brother Dennis purchased R&D Creekside Market in Winchester, TN, a convenience store and deli/diner.  For the 17 years R&D Creekside operated, it became a "home away from home" for many and the customers became part of the Holt family.

In 2004, Randy and his brother Dennis opened Holt Brothers Market & Diner in Winchester, TN.  The business was a convenience store concept with actual diner inside.   The business boomed and quickly sold.  After stepping away from owning a business for several years, Randy embarked upon his current venture in conjunction with his daughter and son-in-law.  In September 2016,  Holt's Diner on Dinah Shore Boulevard opened.  Since then, Randy has continued the tradition of making a business a home for its customers.
