Councilman Glasner was appointed as Vice-Mayor for the City of Winchester by his peers in 2007.

Councilman Glasner was appointed to the Winchester City Council in July 2006 to fill the seat vacated by Mayor Terry Harrell when he was appointed to fill the mayor seat.

Glen was born in Cowan, TN October 8, 1939. He grew up in the Goshen community and graduated from Franklin County High School in 1957. He joined the Navy in 1957 and served until September 1960. He married Glenda Haley in September 1960 and went to Tennessee Tech. University where he received a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1965. He worked for the Rural Electrification Administration in Washington DC for one year as an engineer before moving to Jacksonville FL where he worked with the Navy Aircraft Rework Facility until 1968. He moved to Huntsville, AL and worked for the Patriot Project Office as a Test Engineer for 18 years. In 1986 he became the Deputy Project Manager for the Joint Theater Missile Defense Project Office where he served until retiring in February 1988.

In March 1988 he joined two other entrepreneurs to start and engineering company called Madison Research Corporation to service the missile and aircraft projects offices of the US Air Force and Army. He served as Chief Engineer, Sr VP for Corporate Development and Chief Finance Officer. He sold his interest in the company in 2001 after the company had grown to more than 500 employees.

He and Glenda have a son Bryan, a girls basketball coach for the Bradley County High School in Cleveland TN, a daughter Sherry (Larry) Hill who are owners of pharmacies in Rockwood and Harriman TN, a daughter Tina (Tony) Nicholson who is a director for BAE Systems in Huntsville AL and Tony works as Kitchen/Bath Planner/ Designer for Woodland Homes in Madison AL.

He and Glenda built a home in Winchester and moved back home in June 2000. For the past two years he has served on the Community Development Committee and the Building Codes Committee. He is currently serving on the Dogwood Steering Committee, the Economic Development Committee and the Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
