     As City Administrator I work under the direction of the Mayor and City Council and act in an administrative capacity over all city department heads unless otherwise directed by the City Council. My job includes all the day-to-day duties of operating the City of Winchester. A portion of these duties would include:

~ Meet with concerned citizens

~ Oversee all personnel

~ Coordinate the work of all city departments

~ Review existing and proposed city programs and procedures
   and make recommendations to the council concerning
   appropriate action

~ Prepare administrative directives and bulletins and conduct
   analysis of administrative programs and projects within city
   government

~ Prepare for publication in a local newspaper abstracts of
   ordinances, announcements of public hearings and all other legal
   notices

~ Keep and preserve the city seal and all official records

~ Attend all meetings of the council and maintain a journal showing
   the proceedings of all such meetings

~ Prepare and certify copies of official records

~ Knowledgeable of current legislation

~ Study municipal operations and make recommendations for
   improvements
 

 
 
 
   Beth is a native of Winchester and has lived here most of her life. After obtaining her business degree from Middle Tennessee State she immediately began a career in law enforcement and private enterprise. Having worked for City and County governments since 1990, she accepted the Winchester City Administrator position in December 2002.
